This is a beautifully crafted 10 Year Old Tawny by the leading wine maker Jorge Moreira at Quinta de la Rosa. The grapes are grown on Alto Douro on the banks of the famous River Douro. The port itself has a very intense nose of raisins but a palate that’s very refreshing and balanced; Strong impressions of honey and dates as well as orange marmalade on the tasting, with a touch of spices on the long finish.
Very sadly I only managed to enjoy a small portion of this bottle as a nefarious group of drunk Germans and Irish robbed me of my precious bottle. I warn all potential buyers to keep this one out of reach and sight despite its well designed packaging. Connoisseurs promise this bottle to age for long!
