+ on a red streak
RED was the evening theme. Wild rice steamed with paprika. Then served with chopped strawberries and fresh rosemary and drizzled with a yoghurt-balsamic vinaigrette. Season with fresh ground pepper and sea salt. Full of flavor – tartness mixing with sweetness – and pairs well with a bottle of red.
+ and spring starts, Berlin
With 20 plus degrees in Berlin, everyone is sneezing and hating being alive with hay fever. But at least the sun is back out after a sabbatical of several gray months, and the skies were feeling quite blue today. Going out for a walk into Berlin’s Mitte rewarded GabrielDesigns with a shot of this sunglassed...
+ laugh a little
You know someone who knows how to laugh? Really laugh? Eyes closed, head thrown back, body reacting with the humor of life? Here’s one for you…You have to travel to Israel to see this particular sight, but hopefully you have one closer to home.
+ Israeli RocknRolla, tel aviv
We interviewed this RocknRolla right? Or tried. He was supposedly the hottest star in town. We booked the whole thing in advance for 4, even brought a whole camera crew, but he didn’t show until 7. It’s Saturday but cooommoooon, is it really a Guy Ritchie film here or what? I mean…”We all like a...

Thankfully the clean slate allowed for an experience of the best that the city offers. And Tel Aviv is anything but an isolated Middle Eastern city. It turns...
+ after the mayhem, tel aviv
There’s an extremely tiny minority of individuals that don’t look forward to a weekend brunch. Thankfully most of us DO, and after a long night out with friends, Friday morning (in Israel, Friday is the rest of humanity’s version of Saturday) is much anticipated. The smell of burning butter and the sizzle as whipped eggs...
+ market frenzy, tel aviv
Still at loss for words, being back in Berlin. Four days in Tel Aviv started with a barrage of gun-fired questions at Ben Gurion Airport. Thankfully once that passed, the rest was pure amazement. Including the fresh produce market tour – olive oil tastings, fresh greens, arguments over cheeses, avocado hunting, a stop by the...
+ corsica 2010, where to 2012?
Right about this time two years back, GabrielDesigns found himself standing on a deserted cliff road, looking left and looking right, throwing the classic hitch-hiking thumb, just in case a car jumped out around the bend. Because this is Cap Corse, and 70 year old grandmother-drivers DO drift around corners, deadset on the next cliffside...
