When a cement factory gets decommissioned, you can’t simply call a bulldozer and plow it down. (There’s always money involved. Or lack of.) Rather, the site conveniently gets abandoned. “Forgotten.” And over time, natural forces dictate the deconstruction. Rain and wind crumbles the concrete, exposing the steel within. Moss and lichen, wild grass and weeds make an appearance. Year after year, behind fenced off perimeters, a cement factory slowly dies into decay. For those in search of an adventure, scale the skeleton and make sure to look down into the cavernous drums that once churned cement. But perhaps take a bottle of champagne, there’s nothing like the crisp taste of it standing on top of a forgotten world. To see the whole photo collection: click here
