There is a wintery light slicing through the streets of Berlin and the wind plays a sad tune against facades and through leaf-barren trees that only recently held golden leaves. But a walk through the city shows the Berliners aren’t ready yet for the snow to fall. As if wearing go-to-hell colours could keep winter at bay, there is a city wide protest against autumn slinking away. The day’s favourites: this young lady slipping through pedestrian traffic in a yellow ochre coat (not dissimilar to the knee-length Givenchy worn by Hepburn in 1963) and spied a minute later, an auburn-hair rummaging for her phone.
